The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities is continuing from the date of KIT inception with a mission of imparting teaching and promoting implementation of practical aspects of Applied Sciences and Humanities to build a solid foundation as part of the Engineering Education. It prepares the students for higher studies and for industries by imparting fundamental facets of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Technical Communication and environmental Sciences and first year Engineering Subjects.

The courses taught by the Well-experienced and highly-qualified faculty members of this department lay the foundation of engineering sciences.Technical communication is of particular importance for improving the vocal and written skills of students and it prepare students for globally competitive environment. An understanding of Physics and Chemistry is essential to several engineering subjects like electronics, electrical engineering and engineering materials. Mathematics is undisputedly important in all fields of engineering. The department of Applied Science and Humanities have well equipped and spacious Chemistry and Physics laboratories to improve the practical skills in students.
