Kanpur City: According to history, the village of Kanpur was founded in 1207 by Raja KanhDeo of the Kanhpuria clan. It subsequently became Kanpur, and the city was known as Cawnpore when under British occupation. In the state of Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur is the biggest metropolis. Kanpur was established in 1803, and it quickly rose to prominence as a military and commercial hub in British India. Kanpur, which is located on the banks of the Ganges River, is currently North India’s principal financial and industrial hub. The leather and textile businesses in the city are well-known. Because of its textile industry, Kanpur was known as the “Leather City of the World” and was also referred to as the “Manchester of the East” during the British rule.The city is well-known for its vegetable oil and ordinance industries in addition to leather and textiles. Bithoor, ISKCON Temple, AtalGhat, Boat Club, J K Temple, MotiJheel, Jain Glass Temple, PhoolBagh, Kanpur Museum, Massacre Ghat, Kanpur Memorial Church, and the fifth-century Bhitargaon Temple are some of the major tourist destinations in and near Kanpur. Kanpur is well-connected by air, road, and rail to all of India’s main cities.
